Several weird errors out of the blue
This is one of them. Anyway I've been playing GW regularly for 32 months and never had any problems whatsoever. And now today for some reason the game is completely unplayable. Although there's a lot of lag involved as well, the game also crashes to desktop (the actual guildwars program freezes and then closes, it's not an in-game error message like err=7) with either that message or some GW.exe program thingy where you can send a bugreport to anet. My brother also has the same problem and it also started today. We have wildly different pc's I have AMD he has intel, I have a geforce he has a radeon, so it's not a problem with drivers. Besides they're up-to-date.
Ok so just to get some other obvious suggestions out of the way: no it's not a virus, I checked for it and I'm pretty confident in keeping my pc clean of virusses and spyware etc.
I have 2gb of Ram memory. The memory isn't all clogged when I do ctrl-alt-del to check. So that's not it.
I have texmod (for the high res textures in outposts) but my brother doesn't so that seems improbable as well.
I already did a -image but it didn't help.
The other thing that seems weird is that nobody else seems to have this problem because there's no posts about it, even though in this household 2 pc's have the problem on the same day. We have a wireless network, but even if you'd lose connection, you'd just get some in-game error message about it, the game wouldn't crash to desktop. Besides it's never been a problem before.
So anyway I have absolutely no idea what to do now and it sucks because GW is pretty unplayable. I'm kinda hoping for this longshot where someone here had the same thing and has some magic fix for it

I am having the same kind of problems which also started today.
During one hour of play, GW will crash a couple of times to the desktop.
I am also having lag spikes, where nomally I have an average ping of around 60.
I have reinstalled GW and loaded all updates with -image.
This made no difference.

Hmmm, seems like pretty much the same story as what is happening to me as well.
Starting today, Guild Wars constantly keeps crashing to desktop randomly. No err=7 or anything like that, but an instant crash to desktop. Also, I'm experiencing exceptionally amounts of lag today, which makes GW pretty much unplayable today.
Perhaps it's something that came as result of the update yesterday (January 23), because since then I seem to be experiencing these errors.
Is there anyone that has any clue to these problems or are there more people experiencing the same things?

Poor programming on GW's part. That's exactly what the error message says.

Name a game that never had any bugs, then I'll slam ArenaNet for poor programming.
These things happen, and I'm sure they are working on it. stuff like this is in their best interest to fix or at least give you a viable solution to the problem.

It's somewhat comforting to see other people are having the same problem, that makes the issue a little bit more of a priority, instead of just 1 guy with some random problem, although ofcourse we'd rather not have them to begin with

PONG maybe?
But yea, play other games and you will notice GW is one of the least bugged games out there, and has amazing support and actual regular updates which is excelent seeing as the gameplay is free once you buy the game once.
I expect this will be fixed in the next few days (if not hours if your lucky). I never had that problem, even today, but I notice quite often that GW is very RAM hungry, before I upped to 2gig from 1, I would get regular lag spikes and see that about 700-900MB of ram were being used while playing (dropping to about 400 as soon as I quit the game)

My game is also totally f0x0r3d up since the recent update... getting random errors and dropping out of the game when I try to enter an explorable.

My problems are lock ups and graphical glitches that affect the entire screen. Must be the latest update.

Yes, rather :P I had a few problems yesterday, piling up ontop of what i am sure is an ISP problem (high lag and d/cing about every 3 hours :P) mostly error 7s, although i had a few loading screens freeze, so that i couldnt load fully into areas.
But yes, i have great faith in the Gw team, they have helped me out several times with things and always seem to have time for the individual player so im sure things will be fixed soon

I haven't had a problem yet today, so maybe it's over? The thing is with random crashes you don't know if it's helped for sure, untill it actually crashes again, at which point you know the problem isn't over. But so far so good.

Same for me. Haven't had a crash to desktop for a day or so and the extreme lag seems to be over for now. Let's just hope things stay this way .
